The Angel Book Program

"Each time we give to others we are closer to what is truly divine." - Evidence of Angels

I am so excited about the Angel Book Program, which was created in one brain-storming session with a clever indie bookstore owner (Francine Lucidon of The Voracious Reader, Larchmont, NY) and has led to a fabulous Holiday Book Angel program.

By running a book angel program, you’re showing your support (and that of your customers) for your community and helping to give many children who’ve never owned a book that chance.

I hope many of my Indie Bookstore friends will participate.

Be a book Angel!

Fairy Paintings by Arthur Rackham

Arthur Rackham (19 September 1867 – 6 September 1939) was an English book illustrator.

Arthur Rackham illustrated many classic fairytales, fables, and is infamous for his paintings of fairies. His work is so lyrical, charming and magical; I find his artwork timeless and always inspiring.

Angel Day

Yesterday was Angel Day. I have been reflecting on the meaning of Angel Day. Kindness is the word that comes to mind. Kindness does not demand a thank you, kindness does not demand praise, and in essence kindness demands nothing. Rather kindness is a reflection of the love we carry in our hearts expressed by our acts compassion and connection to each other.

Everyday can be Angel Day if we allow our Love and joy to shine through. This is easier said than done when life presents challenges that feel unfair and painful. This is the perspective of fear and doubt. The late Franklin Delano Roosevelt spoke the infamous words, “ The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Fear destroys our Light and smothers Love until all that remain is a darkness, which feels insurmountable. Fear is the absence of Light; a hopeless abyss that will carry you down until you make the choice to say, “No, I will not go down this road again.” There is a Light at the end of the tunnel, and this Light will lift you up, if you choose.

Butterfly

While sitting in the plane waiting to take off from JFK I looked out the window and noticed a bright orange butterfly fluttering above a tiny patch of grass on the runway. This seemed an unlikely place for a butterfly.  Immediately, I knew it was a message from above. Butterflies are symbols of transformation and beauty. The message that came to me is beauty is everywhere; even in the most unlikely places. This message supports me in remembering that no matter what is happening outside me, I can choose to find the perfection and beauty in every situation life presents to me. Which is the beauty of life. We always have a choice.

Fairy Energy

I love Fairies. I never tire of the magical world of fairies. Which is why I am embarking on a new journey by starting to write a follow up book to my first book THE FAIRIES: Evidence of the Existence of Another World. I’ve been doing more research, which is always enlightening and fun.

Fortunately, more and more books published about fairies and other nature spirits.

Here are a some I recommend: The Fairy Bible by Teresa MooreyHow to Find Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary BakerFlower Fairies Magical Moonlight Feast by Cicely Mary BakerFaeries by Brian Froud and Alan Lee.

People often ask me how they can see fairies. I don’t believe there is one definitive answer to this question. What I can say is you have to quiet your mind, relax into the present moment and raise your consciousness to a higher level. The fairies live within the world we inhabit but on a much higher vibrational frequency. They live on the astral plane where many other magical spiritual beings of the devic realm reside.

Fairies can lose all semblances of human characteristics because they are shape-shifters.  They can abstract their forms into whirling masses of energy, color and light. It is important to keep your heart and mind open to the different ways in which they may appear to you.

I am curious about my own fascination with fairies, angels and other magical and enchanted beings from the unseen world. When I was quite young I would sit in the garden looking under flowers for fairies. It was an instinctive impulse, and I guess I’m still looking. Joseph Campbell’s words come to mind, “Follow your bliss.”  I am grateful the Universe has offered me opportunities to follow my bliss by exploring the unseen world and sharing my discoveries with others.

Hope

This morning while working on my new book I looked up to see the photograph I took of the Angel of Hope. I heard a message to share with everyone.

Hope lifts us up, Hope inspires, and Hope connects us to our higher aspirations of goodness and Love. Hope heals.

This is what I have learned about Hope in the last year. There is Hope on a deeper level... Hope for me is the aspiration to my highest potential without attachment to the outcome.

Embrace Change

Change is a constant. Nothing remains the same. We change; the weather changes; the seasons change; the stock market changes; change is a normal consequence of life.

I have noticed my own resistance to change. I now recognize this as resistance to the present moment, or more accurately my life. Resistance to change only causes pain. Open to your life; embrace change; this is the vertical path.

Corinthians 13

Check out the angel, fairy and other magical FREE wallpaper downloads on myth.com.

My friend, David shared this passage; Corinthians 13 at the workshop I attended last week in Mt. Hood, Oregon: Path To Authentic Power.

Gary Zukav and Linda Francis teach this workshop which is based on their books about creating authentic power.

Corinthians 13 reminds me of something Gary shared with me many years ago, he said, “There is nothing Love cannot heal.”  So true, and reading this reminds me when I forget.

Corinthians 13

LOVE

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Dogs Are Angels On Earth

I came across this piece, Reader's Dog Photos on the NY Times website; people submit pictures of their dogs. I found the images uplifting and wanted to share it with everyone.

Dogs are God's gifts to us.

Angels are everywhere

        Download FREE Myth.com Wallpapers

We were running behind schedule for our 7am departure at Newark Airport; I wasn’t concerned until the insurmountable security line confronted us. It didn’t look good. We had 20 minutes to catch the plane. My first choice was to relax; thinking we’ll make it just in the nick of time. But as time passed quickly and the line moved slowly, I suddenly knew we would not make our flight. I had to do something, but what? I was ensconced in a sea of unhappy travelers. Intuitively, I bolted out of the line to find help. There was no one in sight, except two TSA workers. I called to them and asked for help, they shook their heads ‘no’ in reply. I began to walk back to the line, and let go of the attachment to the outcome of making my flight. When out of nowhere, a man called to me. He quickly showed me his badge, checked my ticket and escorted us to the front of the line. We arrived at the gate as the cabin door was closing.

I’m quite sure this man was an angel; perhaps not the celestial variety of angel, yet, an angel non the less. We all have the potential to serve as angels for each other.
The visual archetype of an angel is a human with wings to fly; it is a beautiful metaphor for our aspirations to rise to our highest potential and greatest good.

EVIDENCE OF ANGELS Arrives

After 3 years of working on my new book,  EVIDENCE OF ANGELS it’s finally here. My lovely editor, Alyson over at HarperCollins just sent me an advance copy. It’s so exciting to hold it in my hands.

I always knew angels were present in my life but I was not aware of their constant guidance and messages until I began working on this book. Day after day the angels guided me to people and places to support me in the creation of this book.

I’m so excited to share this book with everyone.

Listen

I wonder how many of us really listen when someone is speaking to us.

I was at a party recently and a friend was sharing an experience she had with me. While in the grocery store she noticed an old woman struggling to find a bottle in the spice rack. My friend asked the woman if she could help her find what she was searching for. The old woman said she was looking for paprika and it was difficult for her to read the small type on the bottles. After the spice was located the woman began to tell my friend about her life. They spent 45 minutes together in the store as the woman shared deep and meaningful reminiscences of her life. When old woman finished she thanked my friend for listening.  My friend shared her feelings of gratitude for the opportunity to simply listen.

I was touched by this story and it made me think about how often life feels too busy to stop and listen.

We are always being sent messages from angels to support us in living to our highest potential.  This story was gift to remind me to stop and listen to the guidance and wisdom being shared with me everyday.

Waiting For My Life To Begin

One of my favorite books is…"Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. This book imparts truth and wisdom brilliantly.

Excerpt…

The Waiting Place…for people just waiting. Waiting for a train to go

or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go

or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for Yes or No

or waiting for their hair to grow.

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night

or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break

or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting.

NO!

That’s not for you!

Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying. You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing.

…And will you succeed?

Yes! You will, indeed!

(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)

KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!

…Your mountain is waiting.

So…get on your way!

-Dr. Seuss

This excerpt has always resonated with me because I used to spend my time waiting, too. I was waiting for my life to begin. Each day was leading to a better day, and in my imaginary future I would be happy and fulfilled. One day, everything changed, more accurately I changed. I stopped waiting. It was as if an angel touched me with the awareness that each moment is sacred and all I truly have is the present moment. The preciousness of life unfolded before me, and embraced me. Each morning I began to ask, “What will I choose to do with my precious moments? Live from my Love or live from my fear?”

What if you believed your life was precious; that all life is precious? How would your life change?

This is the question we all must ask ourselves.

Begin Today

Recently, I had an interesting conversation… a friend said, “Some artists have one great work in them and that’s it; while other artists are prolific…” I found this so fascinating because from a superficial point of view this is true but when I look deeper, from my soul’s perspective, I know everyone has boundless creativity and infinite possibilities to express themselves no matter what form of expression they choose. It is fear that holds a person back from giving their gifts fully. We all have gifts to share whether it is creating artwork, music, food, gardens, clothing, a business…or anything else that comes from your highest potential and loving self.

It is never too late to follow your bliss and reach for the stars; true courage is the strength to face your deepest fears of unworthiness and powerlessness by challenging the destructive thoughts that keep you trapped in a self-constructed prison of limitations and regrets. We were meant for something bigger: something magnificent: beckons of Light for all to see.

Begin today…
